???? From Palms to the Resurrection: Celebrating Easter Weekend at Providence ????
Easter weekend at Providence was a rich and joyful time of worship, reflection, and celebration as we gathered to remember and proclaim the heart of the gospel: Jesus Christ crucified and risen for sinners.

???? Palm Sunday: The Coming King
Our celebration began on Palm Sunday, as we remembered Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The crowds once cried, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” (John 12:13), welcoming Jesus as King—yet not fully understanding the kind of kingdom he came to establish. Our Covenant Kids opened service by waving palm branches and then blessing us with their song The King of Glory Comes.
Following the service, our church family gathered for a joyful potluck meal. Tables were filled with abundant food, laughter, and meaningful conversation. It was a sweet time of fellowship—an expression of the unity we share in Christ as one body, rejoicing together in the Lord’s provision and grace.

✝️ Good Friday: Beholding the Cross
We continued into the weekend with a solemn and reverent Good Friday service, setting our hearts on the suffering and sacrifice of our Lord. Together, we considered the weight of our sin and the depth of Christ’s atoning work on the cross. Thank you to the Adult Ensemble, who sang a beautiful rendition of On Eagle’s Wings.
In keeping with the truth of Scripture, we were reminded that Christ’s death was not merely an example of love, but a substitutionary sacrifice—bearing the wrath of God in the place of his people (Isaiah 53:5; 2 Corinthians 5:21). It was a time of quiet reflection, gratitude, and renewed faith in the finished work of Christ, who declared, “It is finished.”

???? Easter Sunday: Rejoicing in the Resurrection
On Easter Sunday, our sorrow turned to joy as we gathered to celebrate the victory of the risen Christ. We were blessed to welcome over 220 brothers, sisters, and visitors to worship—a testimony to the Lord’s continued work in and through our church body.
Our sanctuary rang with the praises of God, led by our gifted musicians, lifting our voices together in joyful proclamation: “Christ the Lord is risen today!” We are deeply thankful for the many volunteers who served faithfully behind the scenes and in visible ways, helping every aspect of the morning run smoothly and warmly welcoming all who entered.
???? The Joy of Fellowship
Following the service, our Easter egg hunt brought laughter and delight, especially among our Covenant Kids. Their joy was a sweet reminder of the life and hope we have in Christ—simple, exuberant, and full of wonder.
???? To God Be the Glory
As we reflect on the weekend, we give all glory to God for his goodness and grace. He continues to gather his people, strengthen our faith through Word and sacrament, and unite us in worship, service, and fellowship.
Easter is not merely a day we celebrate once a year—it is the reality we live in as the risen Christ reigns even now at the right hand of the Father.
He is risen indeed. Alleluia!
