November Ministry Highlights at Providence Christian Church

November was a full and encouraging month in the life of Providence Christian Church—a month marked by worship, generosity, service, and spiritual growth. As we reflect back, we rejoice in all the ways God has been at work in our congregation.

November 5 — Providence’s First Quarterly Praise & Worship Night

We began the month with a truly uplifting milestone: our first Quarterly Praise & Worship Night. What an encouraging and powerful evening it was!

On a Wednesday night, our church family gathered once again to worship, pray, and testify to God’s goodness. The sanctuary filled with heartfelt singing, genuine fellowship, and the sweet unity of believers lifting their hearts together in gratitude and joy.

Alyssa’s testimony stood out as a beautiful and moving display of the Lord’s transforming grace at work in his people. Her story reminded us all that God is alive and active in the details of our lives. Throughout the night, numerous prayer requests were gathered from members across our flock—each one a reminder of our shared spiritual need and our calling to keep one another lifted before the Lord.

A special thank-you goes to our gifted musicians, Diane and Bill Vlcek, whose servant-hearted leadership helped shape the atmosphere of worship. We left the evening refreshed, renewed, and reminded of God’s faithfulness.

Mark your calendars—our next worship night is planned for February. We can’t wait to gather again!

November 15 — Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Packing Party

Midway through November, our congregation came together for one of the most joyful service events of the year: the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Packing Party.

This year was a record-breaker—100 shoeboxes packed! Each box represents a child somewhere in the world who will receive not only gifts, but the hope of the gospel.

Our Fellowship Hall buzzed with energy as families, kids, and adults worked side by side to fill boxes with toys, toiletries, school supplies, and heartfelt notes. It was a beautiful picture of generosity across generations, united with the purpose of sharing Christ’s love.

November 16 — Annual Congregational Meeting

The following day, after Sunday worship, members gathered for our Annual Congregational Meeting, a vital moment each year in the life of our church.

During this time we heard updates from our pastors, deacons, elders, and finance committee, reflecting together on God’s provision throughout the past year and looking forward in faith to what lies ahead.

The congregation also voted on our new Deacon Candidates: Trey Hawkins, Bill Robinson, Zachary Rullo, and Bill Vlcek and the re-election of the following:

Elders: Ron Henzel & Mike Levenhagen for a second term.

Deacons: Rich Worley & Fernando Vazquez for third term.

Corporate board of trustees: President: Steve Ehlers. Vice President: Jim Jent. Treasurer: Ken Billburg.

Their willingness to serve and shepherd our church family is a blessing, and we encourage our members to continue praying for them as they step into or continue on in leadership.

November 16 — New Sermon Series Begins: 1 Peter

Also on November 16, we launched a brand new sermon series through the Book of 1 Peter with Rev. Dr. Brent Lauder.

This first sermon, “A Grounded and Hopeful People” (1 Peter 1:1–12), set a strong foundation for the weeks ahead. Dr. Lauder unpacked the themes of hope, identity, and perseverance—timely encouragement for believers living in a world that often feels uncertain.

Sunday School classes at 9:15 AM continued strong as well, providing opportunities for all ages—from PreK through adults—to grow in biblical knowledge and fellowship before the morning service. We have had upwards of 60 people in attendance for the adult classes!

November 20 — Providence Youth Bake Sale Success

We ended the month celebrating an incredible win for our young people. At the Youth Bake Sale, our congregation showed outstanding generosity, helping raise an amazing total of $3,134 through cash, checks, and Venmo.

This amount not only met but exceeded the remaining balance needed for all participating students—meaning each student now only needs to pay the initial deposit to attend Winter Camp in Lake Placid, FL!

This result is a powerful testimony to God’s provision and the loving support of our church family. A heartfelt thank-you goes to our Youth Leaders, whose organization, energy, and dedication made the fundraiser a wonderful success.

Praise be to God for His faithfulness!

Looking Back and Looking Forward

November was a beautiful month of worship, service, discipleship, and generosity. We thank God for every heart that participated, prayed, served, and gave.

As we move into the Advent season, may we continue walking together as a grounded, hopeful, and Christ-centered community.

With gratitude,
Providence Christian Church
